Users can access the Planado web and mobile applications. They can have paid access (use a seat) or have free access.

Users with paid access to the web application can create and edit jobs, addresses, and teams. Users with paid access to the mobile application can complete jobs assigned to them. If you need more seats, you can add them on the Settings → Billing page (available only for your Planado owner account).

In the trial version, you can add as many paid users as you need.

Users with free access (without a seat) can only view jobs. They cannot complete jobs in the mobile application. Amount of free users is not limited.

Permissions can be updated on the user page. Open it by selecting a specific user in the Settings → Users.

Permissions for different parts of the application

A tick near the page name gives a user access to the said page. A point opposite from it specifies the kind of permission: edit or view only. For example, if you tick the Clients enabled to checkbox and select edit, it will give a user access to the Addresses page and will allow adding new users or updating existing ones.

Edit permissions for the Addresses page

We recommend setting permissions based on the tasks given to the user in Planado:

  • An operator can create and edit jobs and addresses, and add teams, and therefore they need full access to the web application. They also might need administrator permissions.

  • A foreman needs permission to complete jobs in the mobile application, for this he will also need to use a seat. They might also need permission to create jobs from the mobile app. Learn more about creating jobs from the mobile app in the corresponding article.

  • Field workers in the teams can have only free access to the mobile application without permission to complete jobs since the foreman is the one who fills the report.

  • The administrator has access to all the configurations of your Planado except for billing and payment, they also need a paid seat.

  • For a CEO responsible for analyzing jobs and reports, access to login to the web application without permission to edit might be enough since they do not add any changes in the Planado.

In order to give a user permission to edit and complete jobs, set a flag on Use seat. If all paid seats are already taken, the owner of the domain can add a new seat in the Settings → Billing menu.

The owner of the domain is also using a paid seat. He is the only one who has access to the billing page. The current owner can assign the new owner of the Planado domain in Settings → General.
